How coffee certification saved my marriage

You might think I’m exaggerating, but I swear it’s true. Coffee certification was the best thing that ever happened to me and my husband. Let me tell you how it all started.

coffee certification

We were both coffee lovers, but we had very different tastes. He liked his coffee strong and dark, while I preferred mine light and sweet. He always bought cheap instant coffee from the supermarket, while I splurged on organic fair trade beans from a local roaster. He drank his coffee from a stained mug, while I sipped mine from a delicate porcelain cup. He brewed his coffee in a rusty old pot, while I used a fancy French press.

We argued about coffee every morning. He said I was wasting money on overpriced coffee that tasted like dirt. I said he was drinking poison that was destroying his health and the environment. He said I was snobbish and pretentious. I said he was ignorant and uncultured. We never agreed on anything.

Our marriage was falling apart. We stopped talking to each other, except to fight about coffee. We slept in separate rooms. We avoided each other as much as possible. We even considered getting a divorce.

But then, something miraculous happened. One day, he came home with a surprise for me. He had enrolled us in a coffee certification course at a nearby cafe. He said he wanted to learn more about coffee and try to understand my point of view. He said he was sorry for being so stubborn and insensitive. He said he loved me and wanted to save our marriage.

I was shocked and touched by his gesture. I agreed to go with him to the course, even though I was skeptical about what we could learn from it.

The course was amazing. We learned about the history and culture of coffee, the different types of beans and roasts, the various methods of brewing and tasting, and the importance of sustainability and ethical sourcing. We met other coffee enthusiasts who shared their passion and knowledge with us. We tasted different kinds of coffee from around the world and discovered new flavors and aromas.

We also learned about each other. We realized that we had more in common than we thought. We both appreciated quality and craftsmanship in coffee. We both enjoyed exploring new things and learning new skills. We both cared about social and environmental issues related to coffee production.

We started to communicate better and respect each other’s preferences. We bought a new coffee maker that could brew both strong and light coffee. We switched to certified organic and fair trade coffee that was good for us and for the planet. We drank our coffee together every morning, from matching mugs.

We fell in love again.

Coffee certification saved our marriage. It brought us closer together and made us happier than ever before.

If you’re having trouble in your relationship, I highly recommend you try it too.

You never know what wonders it can do for you.
