Have you ever wondered what it would be like to drink coffee infused with nitrogen? Well, I did, and I decided to find out for myself. In this blog post, I will share with you my crazy and unusual experiment of making my own nitrogen coffee maker at home. Yes, you read that right. I made a DIY nitrogen coffee maker using some simple materials and tools. And the result was surprisingly delicious!
Nitrogen coffee, also known as nitro cold brew, is a type of coffee that is infused with nitrogen gas, which gives it a creamy, smooth and frothy texture. It also has a lower acidity and bitterness than regular coffee, and a natural sweetness that doesn’t need any sugar or creamer. Nitrogen coffee is usually served cold, but you can also heat it up if you prefer.
Nitrogen coffee is not a new invention. It was first introduced by a company called Stumptown Coffee Roasters in 2012, and since then, it has become popular among coffee lovers and hipsters alike. You can find nitro cold brew in many coffee shops and cafes, but it can be quite expensive, ranging from $4 to $6 per cup.
So, how did I make my own nitrogen coffee maker at home? Well, it all started when I saw a video on YouTube of a guy who made his own nitro cold brew using a whipped cream dispenser and some nitrogen cartridges. I was intrigued by the idea, and I thought it would be fun to try it myself. I already had a whipped cream dispenser at home, so I only needed to buy some nitrogen cartridges online. They cost me about $15 for a pack of 10.
I followed the instructions from the video, which were pretty simple. First, I brewed some cold brew coffee using my French press. I used coarse-ground coffee beans and cold water, and let it steep for about 12 hours in the fridge. Then, I strained the coffee and poured it into the whipped cream dispenser. Next, I screwed on one of the nitrogen cartridges and shook the dispenser vigorously for about 30 seconds. Finally, I released the pressure valve and poured the coffee into a glass.
The result was amazing! The coffee came out with a thick layer of foam on top, and it had a silky-smooth texture and a rich flavor. It was like drinking a Guinness beer, but with caffeine instead of alcohol. It was so good that I drank two glasses in a row.
I was so proud of myself for making my own nitrogen coffee maker at home. It was easy, cheap and fun. And the best part is that I can make nitro cold brew anytime I want, without having to go to a fancy coffee shop or spend a lot of money.
If you are a coffee lover like me, and you want to try something new and exciting, I highly recommend that you make your own nitrogen coffee maker at home too. It’s a great way to impress your friends and family, or just to treat yourself to a delicious cup of coffee.
But be careful: once you try nitro cold brew, you might never go back to regular coffee again!
